DANCE with your entire Familia! All ages welcome.

Celebrating its 20th year, The Latin Ballet of Virginia continues to provide art education summer programs in an exciting and unique format! Our summer programming Inspire children’s self-expression for intellectual growth; boost self-confidence and encourage cultural exploration. 

The Latin Ballet of Virginia strongly believes in the arts’ ability to inspire children. Participants develop notable self-confidence, a sense of discipline and the joy of sharing skills; discovering a greater regard for dance and connecting dance forms to specific language and culture.

The Latin Ballet of Virginia has adapted to the current need for social distancing continuing its fun and innovative programing on a virtual platform. Since both physical LBV centers will remain closed this summer, the Latin Ballet will continue to offer virtual learning and pre-recorded dance classes that include historical and cultural information as well as performance videos of our original work. All virtual and pre-recorded classes are published in a private Facebook page and a private webpage for future reference.

Our Summer FAMILIA series 2020 will offer classes that explore various dance techniques including classical ballet, flamenco, Latin American dances (salsa, cumbia, mambo, cha cha cha, samba, calypso, reggae, tango), African Cuban dances, contemporary dance, hip- hop. Classes include study guides, live and pre-recorded videos in dance history, cultural information of each dance taught, creative movement/improvisation, arts and crafts, story-telling, yoga/relaxation and more.

Cost of Summer FAMILIA $200 (Unlimited classes) – Per class $20 – Private Lessons $60 

Special groups and private live classes taught by Monte Alfonso Jones (Capoeira), Adelle Broom (Jazz and Modern), Ana Ines King (Flamenco/Latin), Marisol Betancourt Sotolongo (African-Cuban/Salsa).
