The Latin Ballet of Virginia, the area’s pre-eminent Hispanic American dance company, under the direction of Ana Ines King, is proud to present Lo Mejor!: Presenting the best of the Latin Ballet repertory. Our audiences have chosen their favorite scenes from the Latin Ballet’s historical and cultural productions such as, AmorAmerica, Alma Latina, Son Corazon, NuYoRican, Macondo and Mujeres.

Lo Mejor! Represents the Hispanic conquest and first settlers in the Americas as in Son Corazon and AmorAmerica. The Latin Ballet will explore the African-Cuban and Spanish rhythms that are the heart of Latin American dance and music as in Alma Latina; along with the blessing, strength and the boundaries of Latin American families as in NuYoRican and Macondo.

Lo Mejor! Includes a homage to Tito Puente, “El Rey Del Mambo” (The Mambo King) and a tribute to Bob Marley, Jamaica and Reggae. The LBV combines technical excellence with soulful depth of emotion.

Lo Mejor! is enhanced by guest artist Frances Wessells, and the powerful percussion group Drums No Guns.
