Grace Durrett

Faculty

Grace began her dance training at the Latin Ballet of Virginia in 2002, where she was first introduced to a wide array of dance styles and techniques that sparked her passion for movement. In 2017, Grace sought to broaden her artistic expression, beginning her hip hop training at Richmond Urban Dance, where she quickly made a name for herself in the urban dance community. She went on to attend James Madison University, earning her Master’s degree in Secondary Education. During her time at JMU, she was an active member of Mozaic Dance Team, an urban dance crew that allowed her to develop her skills further, competing and showcasing throughout Harrisonburg, VA.

After graduating, Grace's entrepreneurial spirit led her to create The Neighborhood, the only age-inclusive urban dance team on the East Coast, where she continues to foster a welcoming community for dancers of all ages. Grace remains deeply committed to dance education and is excited to return to the Latin Ballet of Virginia, where her journey began, to share her love of hip hop and urban dance with the next generation of dancers. She is thrilled to be part of an organization that shaped her own artistic journey and looks forward to inspiring young dancers to explore their own creativity and passion.
