Rebeca Barragan

Dance is the most beautiful way Rebeca connects with her family, her own culture, traditions, and Hispanic roots. Most importantly, the way she can truly connect with herself. Rebeca has studied dance, musical theater and arts since her early age. The Latin Ballet has been her Dance/Culture home since she was only 2 and a half years old. She comes from a family of talented artists from Colombia, South America. Rebeca had the privilege of performing nationally and internationally working in different fields and areas of dance and theatre, including special principal roles in the United States, Colombia and Mexico. Some of her main performances have been dancing the lead role with Caliope Dance Studio in San Francisco; performing with the Latin Ballet in Colombia and Mexico, and dancing for the half time show at The Hard Rock Stadium for the Orange Bowl. She has done commercial and filming productions with Spang TV along with talent agencies.

Rebeca has grow up in such an inspiring and creative environment with the dance community of Richmond. She became a member of The Latin Ballet of Virginia's junior company at the age of 7 and started dancing with The LBV’s professional company in 2022. Additionally, Rebeca trains in Hip Hop style of dance locally and nationally with A-List choreographers in workshops and convention tours. She is also a member of the hip hop performance squad of Richmond Urban Dance since 2020.

Rebeca has assisted in the Outreach Program of the Latin Ballet, teaching Spanish Language Through Dance and Contemporary Hip Hop. Her dedication for dance and culture is contagious. She has trained in different styles of dance such as Flamenco, Hip Hop, African Caribbean, Classical Ballet and contemporary. Rebeca has taken special courses of Flamenco in New Mexico and Spain. She has also been training in Contemporary Dance in Colombia. Rebeca is excited to see where dance will take her. She is forever grateful to The Latin Ballet for giving her the platform and foundation to succeed in life.
