Arianna Moore
Executive Director
Arianna Moore, the inspiring Executive Director of The Latin Ballet of Virginia, brings a profound blend of passion, expertise, and visionary leadership to her role. A proud alumna of the College of Charleston, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Arts Management, Arianna’s journey with The Latin Ballet of Virginia is a testament to her lifelong dedication to dance and the arts, rooted deeply in her Panamanian heritage.
Throughout her professional career, Arianna has demonstrated exceptional ability to balance multiple roles and excel in diverse environments. After graduation, she immediately began her role with The Lonon Foundation as Development and Operations Coordinator, where she planned the successful fundraising event "Hike for Mike," the first in-person event for the organization in over three years. She held this position alongside her role at Apple, where she excelled as a Product Specialist.
During her college years, Arianna worked as a leasing professional, managing marketing strategies and social media for the complex while effectively implementing a system to manage takeovers. Concurrently, she served as a social media manager and planned various successful events. Her diverse professional experience also includes working at the Charleston Music Hall and serving as a social media manager for Annex Dance Company. These roles showcased her organizational and leadership skills, further preparing her for her current executive position.
Arianna's academic journey is marked by significant achievements. At the College of Charleston, she was selected as one of six choreographers for the annual choreographers' showcase, a testament to her creative talent and dedication to dance. She was also an active member of Chi Omega Sorority, the tour guide association, and the College of Charleston Acabelles A Cappella Group, where she served as social media manager and music director. Her academic excellence and leadership skills were evident during her time at the Appomattox Regional Governor's School for the Arts and Technology, where she excelled as President of the traveling dance company.
Arianna's dance career began with The Latin Ballet's Junior Company, where she performed alongside Artistic Director Marisol Sotolongo under the mentorship of the founder Ana Ines King. Her talent and dedication were evident in every performance, from "Mujeres" and "Macondo" to "The Legend of the Poinsettia" and "El Pintor." It was during these early years that Arianna first discovered her passion for choreography, creating a small but impactful piece for "Sol y Luna."
Despite suffering serious injuries that halted her dancing career, Arianna's passion for dance never waned. She continued to choreograph extensively with her high school's dance company, Dance Interface, serving as the only other choreographer besides the director, Kim Richardson. Her high school years also saw her dancing with Ani/Malayaworks and spending two summers in New York City with the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School, where she first worked as a rehearsal assistant. Before her injuries, she received invitations to dance with the Bates Dance Festival and the dance program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
As the Executive Director of The Latin Ballet of Virginia, Arianna combines her extensive dance background with her administrative acumen to lead the organization to new heights. Her comprehensive understanding of both artistic and logistical aspects ensures the seamless execution of productions, tours, and educational programs. Arianna's leadership is characterized by her unwavering commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Latin dance.
Under her guidance, The Latin Ballet of Virginia continues to thrive as a beacon of artistic excellence and cultural celebration. Arianna's visionary leadership and profound dedication to the arts make her an invaluable asset to the organization, propelling it forward into a future of continued success and innovation.
