Chloe Bowman

Chloe began dancing at The Dance Company of St. Augustine, Florida in 2001 under the direction of Ellie Barrett and Jane Bradshaw. She graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, Jacksonville, Florida in 2009 as a dance major, having studied with Suzanne Saltmarsh and Dr. Phyllis Penney. She has attended numerous summer dance intensives including Pro Danza Italia, studying with Lynda Davis; the Central Florida Ballet with Vladimir Bykov; and Bates Dance Festival Professional Training Program with Larry Keigwin, Nicole Wolcott, Michael Foley and Tania Isaac. While attending Virginia Commonwealth University she performed in numerous student works as well as in her own choreography. In 2009 she performed in Richard Carlyon: A Retrospective choreographed by Chris Burnside, and at the Mid-Atlantic Regional American College Dance Festival in a select student work by Melodie Fais. In 2012 Chloe performed in VCU Dance NOW in a work by Judith Steel, and in Michael Foley’s repertory in the Bates Dance Festival finale. Her piece Dearest sister, represented VCU Dance at the Southeast Regional American College Dance Festival at the University of South Florida in March of 2013. Upon graduation, with her BFA in Dance and Choreography, Chloe was awarded Outstanding Choreographer. In June of 2013 Chloe studied in Paris, France with the University of South Florida under the direction of Michael Foley. A presentation of a self-choreographed solo at Micadanses was the culmination of her time in Paris. Chloe danced in Agua Dulce Dance Theater’s "Passing Through" performed at the Modlin Center for the Arts at the University of Richmond in the fall of 2013. She is currently a company dancer with RVA Dance Collective and teaches at multiple studios in the Richmond area. Chole teaches classical ballet and contemporary dance for the junior company members of the Latin Ballet.
